Collier takes oath of office

Collier sworn in

    The newest member of Decatur City Council, Cameron Collier, was sworn in to his first political office on Monday evening by Adams Circuit Court Judge Frederick A. Schurger.
    Collier, a Republican, took the oath during the same event at which 19 other city officials (six elected, 13 appointed) were also sworn in.
    With him were his parents, Dave and Sandy Collier, and his son Barrett. Collier's wife was ill and unable to attend the ceremony at Riverside Center.
    Collier will take the only at-large seat on council, replacing Barb Engle, a Democrat whom he defeated in the November election.
