Claude E. West, 74, and Donna K. West, 71, of Decatur, died at home on Thursday, August 11.
Claude West was born on December 28, 1936, in Bonnieblue, Kentucky, to Walter and Rose Parks West.
He married Donna K. Mountz McSwain on August 5, 1989, in Decatur.
Claude was employed at Decatur Casting from 1972 to 1998 and was a member of the Pentecostal Way Church in Van Wert, Ohio.
Donna West was born on September 28, 1939, on Patriot, Indiana, to Merlyn and Irene Courtney Mountz.
She worked at the former CTS Corp. plant in Berne and, prior to that, at the General Electric Co. plant in Decatur for 20 years. For the past five years, she worked at Woodcrest Retirement Community in Decatur.
She was a member of the Pentecostal Way Church in Van Wert and a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the White Shrine.
Claude West's survivors include three sons, James L. West (and wife Dena) of DeQueen, Arkansas; Randy West (and wife Denise) of Dover, Arkansas; and Vernon West of Fort Wayne; one daughter, Mrs. Scott (Brenda) Strickler of Decatur; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Ken (Marla K.) Brunsman of Cincinnati, Ohio; one stepson, J. Todd McSwain of Decatur; two brothers, Donald L. West (and wife Louise) of Bluffton and Charles West (and wife Donna) of Fort Waye; and four sisters, Mrs. James (Stella) Masterson of Bluffton, Pauline Rothgeb and Mrs. Larry (Bernice) Wine of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Huey (Midge) Ginter of Liberty Center, Indiana.
Donna West's survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Ken (Marla K.) Brunsman of Cincinnati, Ohio; one son, J. Todd McSwain of Decatur; three stepsons, James L. West (and wife Dena) of DeQueen, Arkansas; Randy West (and wife Denise) of Dover, Arkansas and Vernon West of Fort Wayne; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Scott (Brenda) Strickler of Decatur; two brothers, Irvin E. Mountz (and wife Gail) and Lucian R. Mountz (and wife Rita), both of Decatur; and one sister, Judy A. Liter of Decatur.
They are also survived by a combined 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Claude West was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with Pastor William Watson officiating.
Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery.
Visiting hours are noon-5 p.m. Sunday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home.
Preferred memorials are to the Diabetes Fund within the Adams County Community
