City woman is jailed after bizarre incident

September 3, 2013

A Decatur woman was charged by local police Saturday morning after she was allegedly involved in an incident with her van.
A police report released today said Alicia M. Susnjar, 34, Piedmont Lane, Decatur, was arrested after a 10:20 a.m. incident in which witnesses said Susnjar was driving her van west on Bellmont Boulevard near Clermont Avenue and drove at what one witness said was "full speed" directly at a pedestrian, Jerrad W. Impton, 40, Fort Wayne.
Police said the Susnjar van allegedly attempted to crush Impton between her van and another vehicle. Impton jumped at the last moment but was still struck by the van, causing him to by thrown through the air and eventually land on the street. That impact also caused the Susnjar van to collide with a parked pickup truck owned by Automotive Solutions, LLC of Fort Wayne.
