City’s latest target: Dilapidated garages

November 7, 2013

Operation Cleanup in Decatur is targeting dilapidated garages and accessory structures, board of works and safety member and Code Enforcement Officer Bill Karbach told city council this week.
Karbach said 15 such structures have been identified. Owners of the buildings will be notified to contact his department within 10 days of the notice, he said. Failure to comply could result in the city’s removal of the nuisance and the property owner will be assessed the cost.
