City’s 11th motor fest slated Friday

Classic cars coming to Decatur on Friday

    The 11th annual Motor Sports Festival, sponsored by the Decatur Chamber of Commerce and Mark's Heating and Air Conditioning of Decatur, will run from 4-9 p.m. on Friday in the downtown area, with motorcycles and antique tractors added this year.
    Varied refreshments will be available, as well as door prizes and a 50/50 drawing.
    Music will be provided by MillerTyme, a local disk jockey business. Also scheduled is a swap meet of motor sports-related items.
    Some vehicles will be situated on the city-owned First St. parking lot.
    The courthouse will remain open until 9 p.m. to provide restrooms for the public.
    The first 150 vehicles entered will get dashboard plaques and more than 40 plaques will be awarded, organizers said.
    Registration of vehicles will last from 4-6 p.m., costing $12 per vehicle.
