Charles J. Bransteter

    Charles J. Bransteter, 90, Fort Wayne, died Oct. 7, 2013, at Heritage Park in Fort Wayne. He was born in Adams County on Oct. 24, 1922, to the late Charles and Nelly (McGough) Branstetter.
    He worked for Magnavox in Fort Wayne as a foreman, with 49 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and bowling.
    Among survivors are two sons, Marvin (Judy) Bransteter of Fort Wayne and Ronald (Barbara) Bransteter of Monroe; six daughters, Sandy Whittington of Portland, Sharon (James) Parks of Fort Wayne, Dianne (Randy) Beer, Marcia (Neal) Rich and Annette (Mark) Klopp, all of Berne and Kathy Rhoades-Wright of Fort Wayne; three sisters, Deloris Caffee of Berne, Betty Haviland of Geneva and Frieda Bryie of Fort Wayne; a brother, Lester Bransteter of Decatur; 21 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by three brothers, Argyle, Richard and Chester Bransteter; and six sisters, Thelma Tester, Hazel Granger, Creva Bollenbacher, Wilma Gaede, Irma Miller and Garni Bollenbacher.
    There is no visitation and no funeral services. Burial is in Lakeland, Fla.
    Preferred memorials are to Adams County Community Foundation-Cancer Fund.
    Arrangements are being handled by Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home.
