Charles E. Wulliman

    Charles E. Wulliman, 94, Berne, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2012 at Swiss Village.
    He was born to Mennis and Pauline (Sprunger) Wulliman on Januay 17, 1917, in Adams County.
    He married Lavon (Lehman) Wulliman on February 4, 1941; she survives.
    Charles was a retired farmer and carpenter. As a member of the First Mennonite Church, he served as trustee and sang in the Men's Chorus. He also was a member of the Adams County Council and was a Monroe Township Trustee. His interests included raising and training ponies and following Jesus Christ.
    Survivors include his wife, Lavon; two sons, Jack (Cheryl) Wulliman, Columbia City, and Tad (Barbara) Wulliman, Manila, Philippines; three daughters, Kathy (Dan) Echelbarger, Greentown; JoEllen (Ted) Biberstein, Berne; and Amy (Richard) Sprunger, Berne; one sister, Catherine Nussbaum, Fort Wayne; 21 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by a daughter, Althea (Jack) Shoaf; four brothers, Curtis, Herman, Harry, and Bill Wulliman; two sisters,  Augusta Liechty and Vera Adler; and one grandson, Jack Alan Haney.
    Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7, from 2:30-8 p.m. at the Swiss Village Chapel, Berne.
    Funeral services are Sunday, January 8, at 2 p.m. at the First Mennonite Church in Berne, with visitation one hour prior to service. Pastor Jerry A. Flueckiger will be officiating.
    Burial will be in the MRE Cemetery.
    Preferred memorials are to First Mennonite Church &/or Wycliffe Bible Translators.
