Changes made to county’s health plan

    In anticipation of the full impact of health care reform associated with the Affordable Care Act affecting Adams County government in January of 2014, the Adams County Commissioners have instituted some changes to the county group health plan. Insurance rates will increase $10 per two-week pay period for both those utilizing the Lutheran Preferred plan as well as the Three Rivers plan.
    As an example, under the Lutheran Preferred plan, a single employee with no children will pay $20 per pay period for coverage in 2014 compared with $10 in 2013. A single employees with children will pay $56.35 (up from $46.35); an employee and spouse will be charged $115.60 (up from $105.60); and an employee obtaining family coverage will be charged $138.42 (up from $128.42).
