Carl W. Elliott

    Carl W. Elliott, 71, of Decatur, died on Sunday, June 24, 2012, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
    He was born on February 25, 1941, in Adams County, the son of the late Carl W. and Mildred (Johnson) Elliott.
    On July 20, 1963, he married Susan D. Helmrich; she survives in Decatur.
    Carl was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge 1311.
    Among survivors are his sons, Tim Elliott and Doug (Shelly) Elliott, both of Decatur; brothers, James A. (Kay) Elliott of Alabama; and Max I. (Linda) Elliott of Fort Wayne; sisters, Beverly J. (James) Riley of Marion; Phylliss J. (John) Brunner of Decatur; and Helen J. McDonald of Decatur; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
    A Celebration of Life service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, at Salem United Church of Christ, with the Rev. David Butz officiating.
    Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
