Carl C. Lotter, 69, of Monroe, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013, at his residence.
He was born May 21, 1943, in La Porte, Ind., to Ralph G. and Miriam J. (Childs) Lotter.
On October 29, 1966, he married Marsha L. Thompson; she survives in Monroe.
He was a member of First Missionary Church in Berne, where he was active in the Friendship Sunday School Class. He was a 1970 graduate of Purdue University, earning a degree in Ag Economics. During his career, Carl was employed by Central Soya and also Monroe Grain, where he served as co-owner. At the time of Carl’s passing he was co-owner of Agland Grain in Bluffton.
Among survivors are his mother, Rosemary Lotter of Colleyville, Texas; two sons, Todd E. (Jodi) Lotter of Berne and Thad A. (Carla) Lotter of Monroe; daughter, Tanya (Tim) Bluhm of Monroe; four brothers, Dean R. (Mildred) Lotter of Henderson, Ky.; David A. (Lee Anna) Lotter of Terre Haute; Bruce D. (Debbi) Lotter of Dallas, Texas; and Stephen M. (Laurie) Lotter of Kalamazoo, Mich.; three sisters, Barbara A. (Charles) Damery of Rochester, Ill.; Cynthia K. Fletcher of Colleyville, Texas; and Sarah J. Wise of Moline, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, Nathan, Erica, Emily, and Natalie Bluhm, Ashley, Brittany, and Courtney Lotter, and Hunter, Devin, and Grace Lotter.
He was preceded in death by his father and birth mother.
Visitation will be from 3–8 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, and from 10-11 a.m. Friday, April 5, at First Missionary Church, Fellowship Hall, 950 US 27 S., Berne. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Missionary Church. Officiating will be Rev. Don Williams and Rev. Mike Wertenberger.
Entombment will take place in the M.R.E. Cemetery at a later date.
Preferred memorials are to First Missionary Church (Sound System), Family Life Care–Hospice, or Youth for Christ.
