Cal M. Peterson

    Cal M. Peterson, 86, of New Haven, passed away at 10:25 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2012, in the Kingston Residence, Fort Wayne.
    Cal was born on Wednesday, May 20, 1925, in Decatur, the son of the late Cal F. and Edna L. (Neukom) Peterson.    He married the late Magdelene K. Hilgeman on July 24, 1948, in Magley; she passed away on November 5, 2010.
    Cal served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Cal was a member of the New Haven United Methodist Church and lifetime memberships with the Decatur Lodge 571; the Scottish Rite of Fort Wayne; and the Mizpah Temple of Fort Wayne. He was also former member of the American Legion Post 330 of New Haven, Indiana.
    Cal was a welder and mechanic with Truck Engineering Company for 35 years.
    Surviving are his sons, Cal Alan (Renate) Peterson of Fort Wayne; Gary L. Peterson of Rome City, Ind.; daughter, JoAnn (Rick) Dommer of New Haven; five grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
    Preceding Cal in death were four brothers, Charles, Richard, Don, and Ralph Peterson.
    Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. today in D. O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd. Fort Wayne, and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, in D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd. Fort Wayne, Indiana.    Entombment will follow in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
    Preferred memorials are to Heartland Hospice or Kingston Residence.
