New Haven scored a 3-1 victory over Adams Central Monday in high school girls volleyball. Again, the Jets were without veteran setter Alyssa Keller, out of the lineup because of illness.
The Jets lost a close game 25-23 in the opener, tied the match with a 25-18 win, then lost the final two games to the Bulldogs, 21-25.
Bess Fiechter was back in the lineup after missing the Saturday clash with Bellmont, scoring 11 kills, adding 14 digs, and ace and a block assist. Chelsie Eads also knocked in 11 kills for the Jets, now 1-2 on the season. She added one block-assist and a pair of digs.
Frosh Haley Gross chipped in nine kills with two block assists and a dig. Abbey Lichtle put down four kills, adding 13 digs, three assists, an ace, a solo block and two block-assists.
Whittney Peterson put down four kills with three digs and two block-assists. Madi Schwartz keyed the offense with 36 asissts, adding eight digs,, a block and four kills.
Abby Snyder lifted 12 digs to go with an assist and one kill. Liz Luginbill brought up nine digs and recorded an ace. Alexa Baller shot in three aces and had nine digs for the Jets.
Central won the jayvee match, 2-1, losing 19-25, then winning 25-20 and 15-3.
Jenny Schwartz was the standout with 20 kills, adding 12 digs and a block-assist for the 2-1 JV Jets.
Kaitlin Carroll pulled up 15 digs to go with two aces. Sam Fisher had 19 assists with two aces and five digs. Meghan Manley pulled up eight digs with an ace. Jayla Byer added six digs while Kaitlyn Johnson and Jen Kahlert each had a kill.
The Jets will be back in action tonight, visiting Jay County.
