Braves’ reality a sectional crown

Bellmont football coach Larry Getts, who led Bellmont to only its second sectional crown in school history this past fall, feels that team stayed together despite a tough start, and that allowed the squad to prosper in the 3A playoffs.
"The biggest highlight was watching these kids come together as a team, seeing them believe in the invisible and make it a reality. The 2011 team demonstrated time and again what it means to play for the guy next to you," said Getts, who took over a program in a bit of disaray.
Despite a 3-6 regular season, Bellmont toughened up in the playoffs, knocked off a good Yorktown team and then shocked Western for the sectional crown.
"Next year is yet to be told ... but we do have a blueprint," said Getts.
