Braves, Jets move on to sectional semis

KINGSLAND — Both the Bellmont Braves and the defending sectional champion Adams Central Jets advanced on Wednesday night fending off their opponents to advance to the semi-finals.

The Norwell-hosted sectionals kicked off with the Jets taking a 4-1 win knocking off the Bluffton Tigers, while on the other five courts, Bellmont handled Huntington North by the same score, 4-1.
Evan Selking won his match against Tommy Bolinger of North 6-1, 6-1 at one singles to improve to 16-4 on the season. At two, Robbie Ehlerding was a winner over Wyatt Nave 6-3, 6-3, while at three, Austin O'Campo topped his Vikings opponent Cameron Buzzard 6-3, 6-1.
North's one doubles team of Matthew Sieberns and Graham Sereno were the only point earners for the Vikings scoring a three-set victory over the Braves' duo of Logan Baker and Ryan Okoniewski 7-5, 5-7, 2-6 in a match that lasted over two hours.
At two doubles, Conner Hess and Benjamin Fullenkamp aided the Braves in another three-set battle over North's Andrew Smith and Nick May 6-1, 2-6, 3-6 overcoming a first set deficit for Bellmont's fourth point.
