Bellmont will host NHC foe Homestead tonight at the Teepee with the jayvee action slated to begin at 6:30 p.m.
The Braves will bring in a 6-3 mark while Homestead, according to the last NHC statistic sheet, is 3-1 in duals.
Bellmont has been idle since the Al Smith Invitational on Dec. 26 and 27 at Mishawaka. The Braves had a strong showing, garnering seven indivdual places while earning sixth place as a team in the 32-team tournament.
Frosh Joe Becker earned third place at 113 pounds while frosh Bryce Baumgartner finished fifth at 160 pounds. Daniel Gunsett at 120 and Logan Neher at 145 earned sixth places, while sophomore Mason Mendez took seventh. Brett Baker and senior Fletcher Shaneyfelt took eighth places.
On Saturday, the Braves will welcome several of the top teams in the state in the annual Main Event, set to start at 9 a.m. There will be five rounds.
No. 1 Perry Meridian, No. 3 Penn, No. 14 Mishawaka and No. 17 Bloomington South will be among the entrants. Muncie South, Homestead, and Wayne Trace will also be in the field.
Perry Meridian was beaten Franklin and Penn by Evansville Mater Dei in the 3A Coaches Team State Duals this past Saturday at Westfield. Franklin topped Mater Dei for the 3A crown.
