Braves hitting .394 as a team

    Bellmont baseball coach Ben Fawbush announced his team’s statistics today, noting the .394 team batting  average through the first five games. Bellmont is 5-0 overall.
    Landon Baker has three of the six BHS home runs, and leads the team with 12 runs scored and 13 RBI. He is also 3-0 as a pitcher with a 2.17 ERA, striking out 16 and walking a pair in 9 and two-thirds innings of work.
    Nick Fuelling and Brandon Voglewede (1.40 ERA) are both 1-0 for the Braves.    Voglewede fanned eight and walked two in five innings of work so far, yielding 2 hits in the 22 batters he has faced. He has allowed one earned run. Fuelling has hurled nine and one-third frames with 11 strikeouts and nine walks, yielding five hits. He has allowed five earned runs.
    Landon Baker is hitting .600 while Will Busse is at .500 (8 of 16) with four RBI and five runs scored. Matt Stidam is at .545 (6 of 11), Brooks Faurote .500 (6 of 12), and Brian Hakes .455 with five walks.
    Brandon Voglewede has a homer and six runs scored and is hitting .313 for the season. He as driven in three runs. Joe Baker and Brian Fullenkamp are both hitting .333 for the short season.
    The team ERA is 2.76 with 43 strikeouts and 16 walks. Bellmont has given up 13 earned runs.
    The Braves are slated to host Concordia today then travel to South Adams for a 5 p.m. contest on Tuesday. Bellmont will be at the Northview Tourney on Saturday.
