Braves golf blasts Barons in Auburn

AUBURN— The Braves ventured a Greenhurst Country Club in Auburn to face off with NHC foe DeKalb on Tuesday night avoiding the wetter weather down south to win a 155-174 match-up.

Playing the front nine on the course, Bellmont's Chase Ellsworth finished with a medalist 37 on the day but each Braves' shooter shot better than the Barons' top golfer on the day.
Grant Ainsworth and Sterling Price each shot 39s just behind Ellsworth, while Corey Coshow and Patrick Wright finished with a 40 each.
For DeKalb, Hayden Rowe and Ben Carter each shot 42s to lead the way for the Barons, while Hunter Cone managed a 44, Evan Freed a 46, and Calvin George a 49.
The Bellmont JV also earned an easy NHC victory topping the Baron reserves 177-207.
Sam Ainsworth's 38 was tops for Bellmont, while Cole Coshow shot a 43 on the day. Gregg Shoaf had a 46 followed by Cam Hart's 50 and Ty Razo's 54.
The Braves are 9-4 on the season including a 2-3 mark in the conference.
