Braves beat E. Noble; Squaws lose by one
KENDALLVILLE—The Bellmont boys’ swimming and diving team won its second meet in a row on Tuesday to improve to 6-3 with a 115-64 win against East Noble at the Cole YMCA in Kendallville.
Senior Trey Schisler was a double winner for Bellmont in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly, as was senior Zac Torrey in the 50 and 100 freestyle races. Junior Harrison Jacobson won the 100 backstroke and senior Austin Jones won the 100 breaststroke. Sophomore Dakota Massman won the 1 meter diving event.
Despite winning two of the three relays and three individual events, the Bellmont girls’ swimming and diving team was edged by just one point in a 93.5-92.5 loss to East Noble.
With just one event to go – the 400 freestyle relay – Bellmont (8-3) trailed, 80-75, but even a first and third in the final event was not enough for the win.
The Bellmont girls won the 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays. Junior Mikayla Voglewede won the 200 freestyle, junior Chloe Mock won the 500 freestyle and sophomore Allyson Norby won the 1 meter diving event.
Up next, Bellmont hosts Bluffton for senior night on Thursday.
