October 11, 2012

Greyson P. Reed, 7, Madison St., is in critical condition in the pediatric ICU unit at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne this afternoon after having struck by a pickup truck on 13th St. around 7:15 a.m. today.
Police said the driver of the pickup, Josh Butler, did not appear to be speeding and has not been charged.
It was still dark at the time of the accident, which occurred near the Madison St. intersection.
The boy, a student at Northwest Elementary School, was thrown out of his shoes some 50 feet by the impact. He suffered head and back injuries.
Greyson was with his brother, a high school sophomore, and another boy and they were crossing the street to go east to an unauthorized school bus stop. The boys are supposed to meet a bus at 14th St. and Madison.
Greyson is the son of Terri Lengerich.
