Borne takes GOP reins - Former auditor replaces Noetzel

    Former County Auditor Bill Borne was elected on Saturday as the new chairman of the Adams County Republican Party. Borne, a longtime GOP precinct committeeman, bested former county commissioner Steve Baumann in voting among Republican precinct committeemen and vice-committeemen.
    Borne, of rural Decatur, was selected to replace outgoing GOP chairman Rob Noetzel, who earlier had announced he would not seek another term after leading the local party for the past six years. Also elected on Saturday were Connie Moser of Decatur as vice chair,  Ryan Noblitt of rural Decatur as secretary and Jerry Walker of Berne as treasurer.
