Boil advisory still in effect

January 9, 2014

Decatur City Operations Director Jeremy Gilbert reported this morning that while the water main break which effected all of the city earlier this week was repaired Monday afternoon, a boil water advisory issued by the county health department remains in effect.
Gilbert stated that water pressure in the city has been returned to normal and that the city’s water towers have been returned to capacity. He did indicate that “we’re starting to have some smaller water main breaks” in other areas of the city, but that those breaks to this point have been “relatively minor.”
