BMS picked as film site for a day

February 24, 2014

Bellmont High School graduate Andrew Bultemeier, right, and Aaron Webster, director of photography for a Ball State University film project, discuss lighting and set possibilities for a scene in their movie “The Blue” which will be filmed in part at Bellmont Middle School.

A Ball State University film crew has selected Bellmont Middle School as the site of at least one segment of their independent film “The Blue,” and approximately two dozen BMS students will be used as extras in the project.
A four-man team representing the film crew visited BMS earlier this month, prompted by Ball State student and Bellmont High School graduate Andrew Bultemeier.
“The Blue,” according to Ben Redar, the film’s director, is a short film of 20-25 minutes in length that addresses how a young boy and his father deal with the issue of bullying.
