Israeli scientists develop a way to detect water pollution by "listening" to algae. Researchers measure sound waves in water, created from heat produced from algae during the process of photosynthesis. With a special underwater microphone, scientists can analyse the sound waves and determine the health of the algae and the condition of the surrounding water. |
