Mendez enters guilty plea |

resulting in serious bodily injury. Judge David Hanselman Sr. took the plea under advisement and set a sentencing date of April 13.
The plea agreement calls for two murder counts against Mendez to be dropped, with the defendant receiving a 20-year prison term with no time suspended. After 12 years, he will be able to apply for a sentence modification.
