Although the temperature was a fairly-mild 41 degrees this morning, many of those who waited in line outside the Decatur Kmart store beginning at 4 a.m. for Black Friday deals bundled up with coats, hats and blankets to stay warm.
Shopping was continuing throughout the day in Decatur.
A few violent incidents broke out on Black Friday as thousands of shoppers lined up in the wee hours of the morning at Macy’s, Best Buy and other stores to get discounts of up to 70 percent on everything from toys to tablets, according to The Associated Press.
Some stores had hundreds of shoppers rushing in when they opened their doors at midnight — several hours earlier than they normally do on the most anticipated shopping day of the year. A few that opened on Thanksgiving Day even were filled with big crowds.
