The Monroe Little League posted two games last Friday with lots of runs scored and four homers in one game:
• Bank of Geneva beat Farm Bureau, 9-8.
• Decatur Dental Services topped Peterson Grain, 10-9.
In the BG-FB game, Bank of Geneva (5-9) had 10 hits, led by Joel Harvey's two triples, with his second one driving in the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning. He also had a single. Teammates Corbin Becher, Hunter Lotter, and Drexel Canales each had two singles.
The FB Lifers (9-5) had 13 hits: Evan Brown tripled and singled, Kyle Arnold had two doubles and a single, Dylan Miller doubled twice, Dylan Hurst hit a double, and Anthony Mosser added two singles.
Lotter was the winning hurler in relief of Harvey, the starter. Lotter had no strikeouts and one walk, while Harvey struck out nine and walked one.
Mosser got the loss, with five strikeouts and a walk. He relieved Arnold, the starter, who had seven strikeouts and five walks.
In the DDS-PG game, Decatur Dental (4-10) picked up nine hits, including three homers: solo shots by Luke Bittner and Bryce Hindenlang and a two-run blast by Bittner, who also doubled. Brent Yoder and Brandon Hirschy each doubled and singled and Zach Green also hit a double.
For Peterson Grain (9-4), Andrew Hammond had a two-run HR and a single, Johnny Carroll got a double and a single, Austin Butler hit three doubles, and Jalen Hammond added two singles.
Bittner was also the winning pitcher, with nine strikeouts and one walk in relief of Hindenlang, the starter who had seven strikeouts and three walks.
Andrew Hammond took the loss as he struck out six and walked two after relieving starter Andy Parrish, who also whiffed six and walked a duo.
