Betty J. Patrick

    Betty J. Patrick, 84, formerly of Monroe, died Thursday in Swiss Village Retirement Community at Berne.
    She married George H. Patrick on January 21, 1945, in Van Wert, Ohio; he survives.
    Betty was a homemaker who also worked as an aide at Crows Haven Nursing Home in Flint, Michigan.
    She was a member of Friends Church at Monroe, of which she was the clerk for 27 years, and also had attended Park United Brethren Church in Bluffton.
    Other survivors are two sons, Tom Patrick (and wife Colleen) of Ossian and Jim Patrick (and wife Jill) of Monroe; four daughters, Mrs. Norman (Dianne) Glass of rural Berne, Judy Schaper of Columbia City, Mrs. Ron (Gloria) Monnot of Ossian, and Linda Patrick of Monroe  (and Jeff Ward of Rochester, New York); two sisters, Mrs. Dave (Miriam) Welsh of Tacoma, Washington, and Mrs. Gerald (Esther) Thatcher of Van Wert, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with burial in Ray Cemetery, rural Monroe.
    Visiting hours are noon-3 p.m. and 4-7 p.m. Sunday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home.
    Preferred memorials are to Park United Brethren Church at Bluffton, LifeCare hospice in Berne, The Gideons International, and Swiss Village Retirement Community.
