Betty J. Lengerich

    Betty J. Lengerich, 72, of Monroe, died on Thursday, October 25, 2012, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
    She was born in Adams County on April 25, 1940, to the late Robert J. and H. Wanda (Reidenbach) Baker.
    On January 10, 1960 she married Frederick A. Lengerich; he survives in Monroe.
    Betty was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, the Women of St. Mary’s, a former member of the St. Mary’s Choir and a Sunday School teacher for 10 years.    She was self-employed with Lengerich Meats and Decorating Den. In her retirement she spent her time loving her grandchildren and following their activities.
    Among survivors are her three sons, Mark F. Lengerich of Fort Wayne, Sam J. (Natalie J.) Lengerich of Monroe, and Luke D. (Nicole R.) Lengerich of Goshen; two daughters, Laura A. (Randy J.) Lewis of Decatur and Amy M. (Phil W.) McDonald of Berne; a brother, Ronald L. (Judy) Baker of Columbia City; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    She was  preceded in death by a sister, Patricia A. Baker.
    Visitation will be from noon-5 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 5 p.m.
    Calling also on Monday, October 29, from 10-11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Parish Hall followed by an 11 a.m. mass of Christian burial at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Father David Voors will be officiating.
    Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
    Preferred memorials are to St. Vincent DePaul and Adams Central School Choir Department.
