Betty J. Guenin

    Betty J. Guenin, 84, Hoagland, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2012, at Parkview Hospital.
    She was born on Sunday, September 4, 1927, in Bascobel, Wisconsin, to the late Walter N. and Minnie P. (Rogers) Hoffman.
    Betty married Lloyd E. Guenin on June 21, 1947; he passed away on April 29, 2005.
    She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. She retired in December of 1988 from East Allen County Schools with 15 years of service in the cafeteria.
    Among survivors are her son, Gary L. (Peggy) Guenin of Ossian; daughters Sheila (Steve) Magsaman of Decatur, Lois A. Nelson of Veradale, Wash., and Myra (John) McCullough of Hoagland; a brother, Don E. (Joan) Hoffman of Hoagland; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred J. Hoffman and Walter Hoffman Jr.; and a son-in-law, Bruce Nelson.
    Visitation is 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. today at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14, at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, with Pastor Michael Heinbaugh officiating.
    Burial will follow in the Decatur Cemetery.
    Preferred memorials are to St. Mark's United Methodist Church or St. Mark's Food Pantry.
