Berne native gets AC AD post

    After several months of searching – including the hiring and almost immediate resignation of Roger Newton – Adams Central Schools finally has a new athletic director (AD), filling the void created with the retirement last year of longtime AD Rick Minnich.
    The board of education hired Jerry Amstutz, a Berne native who had applied for the job prior to the hiring of Newton. After hearing of Newton's resignation, Amstutz contacted the school again to express his interest in the position, and the ball was rolling.
    Amstutz is a 1974 graduate of South Adams High School and received a bachelor's degree from Bethel College. He received a master's degree in school administration and supervision, and a master's degree in secondary education from Indiana University - Fort Wayne.
