April 29, 2014

Despite recently learning new mandates by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management may add substantial cost to the city’s planned renovation of its municipal sewer system, Berne City Council approved a motion to move forward with a bond ordinance to fund the project during Monday evening’s regularly scheduled meeting.
Dennis Otten, a financial consultant with the firm of Bose, McKinney and Evans LLP in Indianapolis, met with the board to discuss the timeline for the proposed bonds, recommending councilors move forward to keep the project — the particulars of which have not been fully discussed in public — on track.
