Bernardine Kreps, 94, Decatur, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at Markle Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Bernardine was born Sept. 8, 1919, in Adams County, to the late Albert C. and Elizabeth (Eiting) Laugerman.
She married Max E. Kreps Aug. 10, 1940; he died June 8, 1990.
Bernardine was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, the Rosary Society, The Catholic Ladies of Columbia and the St. Vincent DePaul Society. She was a homemaker and assisted her husband in Kreps Manufacturing. Both were active and enjoyed square dancing.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Kenneth Geimer of Houston, Ohio, Joyce (Tom) Schmidt of Avilla, Thomas (Judy) Geimer of Decatur, Donald (Sue) Geimer of Marshfield, Mont., Tim (Karen) Colchin of Decatur and Nicholas (Nan) Colchin of Decatur; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Rosemary Geimer; and a brother in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with Father Stephen Colchin officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Calling is from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Haggard-Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:30 p.m. and from 9-10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Parish Hall.
Preferred memorials are to St. Joseph School.
