The Bellmont boys and girls swim team both recorded eight individual and three relay triumphs Thursday night enroute to posting solid wins over the Adams Central Jets at the BHS pool.
In a meet before an SRO crowd,  Bellmont claimed all but one event in both matches with the boys racing to a 123-63 decision while the Squaws earned a 103-60 decision.
"I thought it was a pretty solid swim for us tonight," remarked BHS coach Drew Norby adding "what I liked about the night is that while we expect Jay (Watters) and  Michael (Miller) to do well and win, we had some others on the team step up and pick up the slack to do well."
Norby noted the effort in the 200 IM saw the Braves not only go 1-2-3, but had all three swimmers, Miller, Mason Werling, and Trey Schisler, all post season best times.
"There were a number of personal bests, some by just a tenth of a second or so, but nonetheless it was a good night for us. We really need everyone on this team to pick it up because when it comes time for the sectional, to win it you need numbers to place. Right now, I think there's probably just a couple of events where we could place two in the top eight."
Looking at the stat sheet, Norby said probably the top personal best came from Harrison Jacobson in the 100 backstroke. Jacobson finished fourth overall but his 1:09.26 time was a four second cut.
Battling injuries and a viral bug, Adams Central's boys lost their first dual meet of the season and coach Patty Sauer said that while the final results were pretty much what she suspected they would be going into the meet, "our guys had some good times. We've had a lot of illness at school and were missing three girls tonight. We had a lot who swam in both the boys and girls meet but didn't feel well."
