Bellmont swimmers take down Tigers

BLUFFTON—The Braves captured nine of 12 events Thursday night enroute to a lopsided 120-66 swimming victory over Bluffton at the Tigers' pool.

Most of the Bellmont victories were by decisive margins with only Matt Hartman's win in the 100 breaststroke coming in at under one second. Hartman topped teammate Mason Schultz 1:21.60 to 1:22.36.
Bellmont opened the night with a 2:04.47 swim in the 200 medley relay by Jay Watters, Hartman, Mason Werling, and Schultz and then got its second win in the 200 freestyle when Zac Torrey blazed his way to a three-plus second win with a posting of 2:07.15.
The Bellmont girls also recorded a win over Bluffton although no team score and incomplete results were available.
Those swimmers earning victories for the Squaws included the 200 medley relay team of Hannah Mendez, Reagan Burry, Chloe Mock, and Peighton Morlan in 2:29.66 (by just .47 of a second), Mock in the 200 freestyle in 2:31.09 and the 400 freestyle in 5:14.23, Rachel Klingensmith in the 50 and 100 freestyle races with respective times of :30.77 and 1:07.22, Erin Hunter in the 100 butterfly in 1:15.31 and the 200 freestyle relay foursome of Sarah Evans, Mikayla Voglewede, Hunter, and Klingensmith in 2:03.69.
