DALEVILLE— Bellmont improved on their perfect season start with an 11-7 victory over the Daleville Broncos on Friday night.
The Braves, now 7-0 on the year, started out with a 1-0 deficit after Corbin Maddox singled in the game's first run in the bottom of the first. Bellmont would respond with two in the top of the second to take the lead when Mason Shinabery and Ryan Okoniewski started the inning with two singles. After a second out, Kyle Wittwer singled in both Braves runners for the 2-1 advantage.
Bellmont would tack on two more in the third when Adam Weaver and Brett Baker went back-to-back singles. A Jake Hall bunt moved the runners and an error scored Weaver. Baker would score on an RBI groundout from Parker Zeser.
The trend continued in the fourth for Bellmont when Weaver doubled in Sawyer Boyd and Josh Brune. Baker would double on the next play scoring another run and gave Bellmont the 7-1 advantage. In the fifth, Boyd singled to center scoring Shinabery who doubled, then Boyd scored on a Weaver single and it was 9-1.
