Bellmont nips Homestead

    The Squaws held their own against a golf juggernaut Tuesday landing an impressive 189-192 victory over the Homestead Spartans at Cross Creek.
    “This was a great win for Squaws’ golf,” noted coach Andy Heim.
    Rachel Klingensmith rose to the occasion for Bellmont shooting a course low 43 to pace the Squaw shooters. Courtney DelaCusta also shot a 43 for Homestead tying for medalist honors.
    Morgan Ellsworth shot a 44 and Macy Phegley landed a 47 keeping the scores in the forties. Annie Butchko and Alissa Hoffman each shot a 49 for the Spartans.
    Julia Brewer shot a 55 with Kelsey Roth shooting a 68 to round out the Bellmont scores. Maddison Yenser (51) and Kyra Hoffman (52) were the other Homestead golf scores.
    Bellmont’s JV also took care of business winning 226-245.
    Sarah Evans’ 52 was tops for the JV circuit, while Lexy Norby shot a 53, Rylee Hamilton a 54, Maddie Strickler a 67, and Olivia Hamltons a 76.
    The Squaws golf tonight at Willow Ridge against another conference foe in Carroll. Bellmont is 5-0 in match play and 2-0 in conference.
