Beatrice Lavaughn Johnson, 107, of Decatur, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2012, at Woodcrest Nursing Center.
She was born in Adams County on April 16, 1905, to the late Harvey and Cora (Lee) Stetzel.
Lavaughn married Teddy J. Sudduth; he died December, 1960. She then married Lester Johnson; he died August, 1980.
She was a member of the former Decatur Nazarene Church and was a homemaker.
Among survivors are a son, Robert L. (Hillis) Sudduth of Angola; a stepson, Ron Johnson of Decatur; a daughter, Joyce (Richard) Steiner of Linn Grove; a stepdaughter, Barbara (Jim) Jarshaw of California; daughter-in-law Ruth Sudduth of Decatur; and 12 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 60 great-great grandchildren and eight great-great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Fred Sudduth; eight sisters; two brothers; one grandson; and one granddaughter.
Visitation is from 2-4 and 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 14, also at the funeral home. Chaplain Chris Thurow will be officiating.
Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to Family Life Care-Hospice.
