MONROE — Adams Central sophomore middle hitter Jenni Baumer followed a huge block with a shot right down the middle to squash a Norwell rally, sewing up the second set 25-23 in a three-game sweep for the Lady Jets Monday night at the Hangar.

A passing error by the Jets helped Norwell tie the set at 23-all, the fourth tie in the later stages of the set. Central returned a Rylee Werling serve, but Norwell could not come get it back over to lose the next key point, setting up Baumer's middle power surge to end the key game.
Central won the first set 25-15 then grabbed the momentum in the third set, running out to a 21-11 lead before scoring the 25-18 victory.
Baumer led a strong frontline Central surge with nine kills, two solo blocks and four block assists.
The win put the Jets at 15-6 going into Tuesday's ACAC showdown at Leo. The Lady Jets will put a perfect 5-0 loop mark on the line tonight.
"That momentum thing is a hard thing to overcome." admitted Norwell coach Mark Campbell, whose Knights are now 12-12 on the season.
"We made a really good comeback in that second, and just couldn't quite regain that edge. We dug ourselves a hole that was hard to get out of the whole time."
Two Haley Gross aces helped the Jets jump out 3-0 in that second set. A Whitney Peterson kill from the left side put Central up 9-6. Abby Lichtle's slam down the line on the right side, followed by a screamer from Peterson put the Jets up 13-8.
However, two serving errors and a hitting error, followed by a kill by Norwell slugger Olivia Geiger tied the score at 16-all. Two more AC serving miscues helped Norwell stay in the match.
"The second game we had a lot of our own errors. We had six missed serves," complained Central coach Ashley Beard.
"It's just mental. We had two or three right in a row and that was frustrating. But we bounced right back. That's one thing that we're getting better at, when we need to score we find a way to do that."
