Former sweeper shop

Air Management Techniques of Muncie has been awarded a city contract to remove asbestos from the former Dwayne's Sweeper Shop building at the corner of Monroe and Second streets in downtown Decatur, it was announced at last night's meeting of Decatur City Council.
The Muncie firm had the low bid of $2,100.
In addition, Mayor John Schultz said, specifications are being readied to receive bids for demolition of the building, which has become a major eyesore in recent years. March 6 is the target date for receiving bids, the mayor noted.
The city recently purchased the buidling from Dwayne Skaggs of Bluffton for $25,000.
