Political candidates will be running on November 2 (Election Day), but people wishing to help others in need will be walking on November 4.
Millie Deaton, who heads the Adams County office of Community and Family Services (CFS), has announced that this year's CFS-sponsored Walk for Warmth will take place in Decatur on Thursday, November 4, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The walk will start at the Adams County Service Complex downtown, where the CFS office is located, and go along Monroe St. to 13th St., then along 13th to Adams St. and down Adams to end back at the Service Complex.
Walk for Warmth has been held for many years to raise money and help people with limited incomes pay their winter heating bills.
Those interested in taking part by collecting money for Walk for Warmth may get donor registration forms at the CFS office in the basement of the service complex. The CFS site is open from 8-11:30 a.m. and 12:30-4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8-11:30 a.m. Fridays.
For more information, call CFS: 724-3574.
