Ann Marie Mawhorr, 70, of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday, September 23, 2011, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Born in Fort Wayne, she graduated from Central Catholic High School and Marquette University at Milwaukee.
She married James K. Mawhorr on October 3, 1964.
She worked as an office manager with Summit Rehab Group Inc. for 28 years, retiring in 2003, and was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. She was a member of American Legion Post 47 Auxiliary, the Eagles lodge in Waynedale, Tops, and Red Hats.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her many friends, doing their social activities, and enjoying unique culinary experiences.
Surviving are her sons, Douglas K. Mawhorr of Muncie and Daniel Mawhorr (and wife Jodi) of Berne; her daughters, Mrs. Dan (Cheryl L.) Bartnick of Fort Wayne and Mrs. Jonathon (Jennifer R. ) Landing of Michigan City; and six grandchildren: Joshua, Abby, Kyle, Anna, William, and Malina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James K. Mawhorr, in August of 1984; her parents, Howard L. and Claire A. Davis; and a brother, Ed Davis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Jude Catholic Church, with Father Thomas Shoemaker officiating.
Calling will be one hour prior to the mass. Calling will also be on Tuesday from noon-2 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. at D. O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Rd., Fort Wayne, with a vigil at 7:30 pm.
Graveside services will be at Highland Park Cemetery in Fort Wayne, followed by a celebration of life.
The family suggests that preferred memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, to Hope House, or to the Multiple Sclerosis Association.
