Anita L. Sovine

    Anita L. Sovine, 89, a former longtime resident of Pleasant Mills, died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday in the nursing center at Woodcrest Retirement Community, her residence the past three and one-half years.
    She was born on January 18, 1922, in Van Wert County, Ohio, to Walter G. and Daisy P. August Stetler.
    She married Luther A. "Buzz" Sovine on July 26, 1941 in Purvis, Mississippi. He passed away on November 2, 1991.
    Anita retired from General Electric in 1977 with 25 years and two months of service,
    Anita was a member of the auxiliary units of the Decatur and Willshire, Ohio, posts of the American Legion.
    Surviving are one son, David W. Sovine (and wife Terrie) of Decatur; three daughters, Patricia J. Free and Mrs. Joseph (Pamela J.) Longsworth of Decatur and Mrs. Ted (Lori A.) Miller of Pleasant Mills; one sister, Ann Young of Willshire; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
    She as preceded in death by one grandson, Jody Sovine; three brothers, Jack, Charles "Chub," and Walter "Gene" Stetler; and four sisters, Imogene Stetler, who died in infancy; Maxine Huffman, Mary Lou Suman, and Okaleah "Okie" Fuelling.
    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with Pastor Mark Rutledge and Chaplain Chris Thurow officiating.
    Burial will be in Willshire Cemetery at Willshire, Ohio.
    Visiting hours are 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 3-7 p.m. Sunday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home.
    Preferred memorials are to James Whitcomb Riley Children's Hospital at Indianapolis.
