    Andrew W. Schwartz, 81, of Monroe, passed away at 7:40 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at his residence.
    Andrew was born Friday, July 22, 1932, in Adams County, to the late Joseph L. and Elizabeth D. (Wickey) Schwartz.
    He married Emma S. (Wengerd) Schwartz on November 27, 1952; she preceded him in death.
    He was a member of the Old Order Amish.
    Among survivors are six sons, Joe (Sylvia) Schwartz and Daniel (Edith) Schwartz of Berne, Jonas (Katie) Schwartz, Andrew (Anna) Schwartz, and Eli (Esther) Schwartz of Monroe, and David (Rosie) Schwartz of Decatur; five daughters, Elizabeth (Enos L.) Schwartz, Mary Ann (Jacob A.) Schwartz of Monroe, Becky (Joe A. L.) Schwartz, Susan (John A. L.) Schwartz, and Emma (Jake G.) Schwartz of Berne; brother, Daniel W. Schwartz of Monroe; sister, Becky Beechy of Berne; 113 grandchildren; and 171 great-grandchildren.
    Andrew was preceded in death by his son, Reuben Schwartz; daughter, Lydia Schwartz; two brothers; six sisters; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Thursday, August 1, and 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday, August 2, at the Andrew W. Schwartz residence, 2881 W. 100 S. Monroe.
    Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, August 3, also at the Andrew W. Schwartz residence, with Bishop Jonas W. Schwartz officiating.
    Burial will follow in Schwartz Cemetery in Monroe.
    Arrangements are being handled by Downing & Glancy Funeral Home in Geneva.
