Andrew J. Shetler

    Andrew J. Shetler, 74, Monroe, died at 12:18 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. 
    He was born Friday, April 28, 1939, in Holmes County, Ohio, to the late Jacob L. and Amanda Shetler.
    He married Savilla K. Hilty, Thursday, May 28, 1959, in Berne; she survives.
    Andrew was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
    Surviving are seven daughters, Melinda (Ervin) Schwartz of Decatur, Naomi ( Aden) Troyer of Berne, Rosalyn ( David) Schwartz of Monroe, Sara (Mark) Troyer of Bluffton, Susan (Marc) Wickey of Gravel Switch, Ky., Kathy (John) Schwartz of Newaygo, Mich. and Barbara (Daniel) Wickey of Burr Oak, Mich.; eight sons, Mahlon (Martha) Shetler of Geneva, John (Christine) Shetler of Berne, Abraham (Margueritte) Shetler, Joseph (Lisa) Shetler, Neil (Irene) Shetler and Urie (Susan) Shetler, all of Monroe, Aden (Ruby) Shetler and Andrew (Lena) Shetler, Jr., both of Homer, MI.; two brothers, Val J. Shetler of Berne and Mose J. Shetler of Lagrange; a sister, Fannie J. Hilty of Berne; 127 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by six brothers; two sisters; and four grandchildren.
    Funeral Services will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday at the Shetler residence, 1803W 50S, Monroe.
    Interment  will follow in Winchester Cemetery, Adams County.
    Calling hours will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, both at the Shetler residence. 
    Arrangements are being handled by Downing & Glancy Funeral Home in Geneva.
