Amy L. Bemus

    Amy L. Bemus, 76, of Decatur, formerly of Sidney, Ohio, and Louisville, Kentucky, passed away at her residence on Saturday, October 15, 2011.
    Amy was born in Sidney, Ohio, on July 11, 1935, to Clarence A. and Isabel (Cotterman) Holly.
    On June 9, 1956, Amy married Denton E. Bemus.
    Amy was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur and its Rosary Society.
    She was a 1953 graduate of Sidney High School in Sidney, Ohio.
    She had also worked for Ferris Bower Jewelry store in Decatur and Ann’s Hallmark in Fort Wayne.
    She is survived by her husband, Denton E. Bemus of Decatur; her children, Douglas A. (LaDonna) Bemus of Louisville; Mark G. (Sandra) Bemus of Louisville; Margaret I. (Russell) McNutt of Fort Wayne; Holly A. (James) Kwan of Houston, Texas; and Eric M. (Cindy) Bemus of New Haven; two sister, Marilyn Doak of Sidney, Ohio, and Margarita Davy of Troy, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by a grandson, George Andrew Bemus; a brother, Bill Holly; and two sisters, Dorothy Althaus and Charla Doak.
    Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, from 4-8 p.m. at Haggard-Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home in Decatur, with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:30 p.m.
    On Thursday, October 20, 2011, there will be a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Father David Voors will be officiating.
    Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Decatur.
    Memorials are to Family Life Care-Hospice in Berne or to Pathways Adult Day Center in Decatur.
