    Amos H. Schwartz, 75, of Monroe, died at 4:23 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Parkview Regional Center.
    He was born January 25, 1937, in Adams County, to Chris C. and Susan (Hilty) Schwartz.
    A lifelong resident of Adams County, he was a carpenter and a member of the Old Order Amish.
    Among survivors are his wife, Elizabeth H. Schwartz; seven sons, Elmer (Elma) Schwartz of Monroe; Amos (Rosemary) Schwartz of Monroe; Ruben (Ruthann) Schwartz of Berne; Marvin (Lila) Schwartz of Monroe; Melvin (Mary) Schwartz of Berne; James (Marietta) Schwartz of Berne; and Mose (Barbara Ann) Schwartz of Berne; seven daughters, Barbara (Leroy) Schwartz of Berne; Miriam (Marvin) Hilty of Berne; Ruth (Edwin) Miller of Monroe; Susann (Stephen) Hilty of Monroe; Esther (Joe) Graber of Geneva; Clara Schwartz of Monroe; and Bertha (Amos) Eicher of Monroe; two brothers, Chris and John Schwartz; one sister, Anna Miller; and 87 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jake, Joe and Sam Schwartz; and one sister, Leah Schwartz.
    Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on Friday at the family residence, 2343 S 400 W, Monroe.
    Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday also at the residence, with Bishop Nicodemus Schwartz officiating.
    Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery.
    Arrangements were by Downing & Glancy Funeral Home.
