AMH gets a zero ... and that’s good!

June 26, 2014

A “0” is not the type of score most organizations want to receive when being evaluated, but that score recently given to the Adams Memorial Hospital left the AMH Board of Trustees glowing with praise for hospital staff Wednesday night at the regular monthly meeting.
The score was issued by the Indiana State Department of Health and reflects the number of medication errors, surgical errors, or other miscues during 2013 that by law are required to be reported to the ISDH.
AMH Chief Executive Officer Jo Ellen Eidam told the trustees hospitals must report issues such as operating errors, giving wrong medication that results in problems for the patient, or other situations that occur that could have been corrected by following proper procedures.
