American Legion to host benefit dinner for Color Guard Oct. 21

    A dinner to benefit the color guard at American Legion Post 43 in Decatur will be held from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 21, at the Legion Post at 1st and Madison streets, downtown.
    The meal will include pork loin, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, dessert and beverages.
    Tickets cost $9 before the event and will be $10 at the door. Patrons may dine-in or carry-out.
    Legion Post 43 is handicap-accessible.
    There will also be a drawing for a United States flag blanket, with tickets available at the Legion Post 43 and from all members of the color guard.
    The Legion Post 43 Color Guard honors U.S. military veterans and their families in the community by presenting the colors, with a rifle escort, at funerals of veterans as well as during public events and celebrations.
