Alvera Eady

    Alvera Eady, 86, of Decatur, died on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
    Alvera was born on June 28, 1926, in Wren, Ohio, to the late Alva and Dora (Mathewson) Cully.
    On November 15, 1946, she married Theodore D. Eady; he passed away on November 6, 1989.
    Alvera was a member of Zion United Church of Christ. She was also a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Post 43 and of the Friendship Club. She volunteered for Adams Memorial Hospital. She worked as a waitress and hostess at Fairway Restaurant for many years.
    Among survivors are four sons, David Eady, Steven (Sherry) Eady, Kim (Kathie) Eady, and Jeff A. Eady, all of Decatur; daughter, Sue Eady, also of Decatur; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
    Alvera was preceded in death by a son, Larry Henry; a great-grandson, Kyle Combs; and six sisters.
    Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, and from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, April 25, at Zion United Church of Christ.
    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, also at the church, with Rev. Randy Rossman officiating.
    Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery.
    Preferred memorials are to Zion United Church of Christ or to A.C.C.F. Angel Cancer Fund.
