Alfred E. Fryback

    Alfred E. “Gene” Fryback, 76, of Decatur, died Saturday, January 26, 2013, at Woodcrest Nursing Center.
    Alfred was born on October 28, 1936, in Allen County to the late Clarence W. and Velma Mae (Hamrick) Fryback.
    He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the American Legion Post 43. He served in the Army National Guard and United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.
    Among survivors are four sons, Kevin Fryback of Sarasota, Fla.; Kenneth Fryback of Decatur,; Keith Fryback of Huntertown, Ind.; and C.W. Fryback of Lynn, Mass.; four daughters, Sara (Gary) Mattax and Crystal Fryback, both of Fort Wayne, Sharon (Mike) Wilber of LaOtto, Ind., and Amanda (Wayne) Shumate of Fremont, Ind.; sister, Virginia May Wilson of Poe; 18 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
    Alfred was preceded in death by a sister, Marge Ann Fuelling.
    A memorial visitation will be from 4-5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
